Southcreek Global Media Announces A Content-Distribution Partnership Agreement With ZUMA Press

Aug 18, 2010 - Southcreek Global Media announced today a new content distribution partnership agreement  with ZUMA Press, in which ZUMA’s distribution system will syndicate the Ontario, Canada based media companies daily news, sports, politics, entertainment, travel and fashion coverages.

Under the terms of the agreement, ZUMA Press will syndicate Southcreek Global’s daily new image feeds. Southcreek Global’s images will go directly into ZUMA’s networked global distribution system. The systems ingestion of time sensitive images filed by Southcreek’s staff from stadiums and events will immediately be published into Southcreek’s online media galleries and become available for licensing by daily newspapers, magazines and editorial clients around the world and all in live time. Southcreek news images will simultaneously be fed into globally syndicated news distribution as the images are pushed to news desks globally. Southcreek Global’s entire archive of news, sports, politics, entertainment fashion and travel media will also be available for clients access under the content distribution partnership through Southcreek’s Online Media Galleries.

During an event like a World SBK race, I work in three different location:

1. Field, usually the press room where I came back after shooting on track. Here I download the images on two different external USB drive (I use LaCie rough drive) with Photo Mechanic and my MacBook Pro, assigning the correct IPTC data using its stationery pad function.
   Usually I shot RAW, even on sports assignement, to have the highest image quality, so I develop the selected images on Adobe Lightroom 3. I adjust the exposure when needed, pump up the saturation a bit and add a bit of sharpness. Then I upload the images to the agency live server using the FTP Publisher plug in. I use a bunch of Lightroom preset to speed up the process.
2. Base, this is usually my hotel room. When I came back after a day on the track I copy the image from one of the USB drive to a Iomega Ultramax firewire drive. Make a larger selection of the images of the day, edit them and upload the new images to the stock server of the agency. I also upload 3000×2000 pixel jpg version of this larger selection to Photoshelter for personal archive.
3. Studio, finally when back home I download all the images from the firewire drive to a Drobo station, where I store all my archive. Usually at studio I also manage to edit my web and social networks posts.
   Could seem a bit paranoid but I also store a copy of the whole archive on an external drive at home, so I can have a complete backup at studio and at home.

Togheter with a great crew, including director of photography Daniele Poli, I had a two days shooting in Vallelunga race track for the teaser commercial video of an upcoming bike from the Indian manufacturer Mahindra.

We shot using two Red One Camera and a variety of lenses from the 16 to the 400mm, mixing studio like situation with dynamic scene on track.

For the track shooting we rented Vallelunga International Raceway, and I would like to thank the circuit staff for their kind support.

The commercial was developed by the agency Interface Com and it was a pleasure to work with their creative director Robby Mathew.

I want to thanks Alberto Stazzari and his team at Engines Engineering for their help during the shooting, it was great fun working with you.

Last, but absolutely not least, I’d like to thank Mr Devendra Shinde, Vice President of Marketing at Mahindra, for the trust he gave to me and to my team for such important job.

The film will be aired on Indian television starting the 22nd of August, and I will share on my site as soon as possible.
